Lovers Talk: Volume 4

Sara Marlowe Hall & Matthew Zuk (Zuk Zuk)
Grotta Gallery, The Amber Houses — Aegina, Greece
Sunday 7 June, 7:00 PM — Exhibition & Live Performance

Curated by Matilda Percy and The Amber Houses

On Sunday 7 June, The Amber Houses inaugurated Grotta Gallery, a newly revealed underground exhibition space carved into the garden landscape. This first public opening invites audiences into an excavated cave—an unseen, earthen architecture—activated for the first time through visual art and live sound.

Lovers Talk presents paintings by Sara Marlowe Hall alongside live music compositions by Matthew Zuk (Zuk Zuk), experienced together within the intimate setting of the cave. Image and sound unfold in parallel, shaping an immersive encounter that responds directly to the acoustics, textures, and atmosphere of the space.

The exhibition is the result of a two-week residency at The Amber Houses, during which the Los Angeles–based artist duo worked in tandem, developing original works of painting and music. Their daily practice—rooted in studio work, observation, and movement across the island—allowed the work to evolve in real time, shaped by the landscape, light, and architecture of Aegina.

Lovers Talk is conceived as a shared sensory experience, inviting visitors to listen, see, and feel collectively. Wine and food for thought will be served by the sisters Melina & Amfisa.
